Local Civic & Roadwork Updates

Our fire department just did something no other department in the county has. The Chesterfield Township Fire Department earned Accredited Agency status from the Commission on Fire Accreditation International, the first in Macomb County to pull it off. It took years and more than 250 criteria. Fewer than 2% of departments nationwide hold it, and in Michigan the only others are Grand Rapids, Canton Township, and Metro Airport. Chief Craig Miller called it a reflection of the department's commitment to the community. Worth saying out loud: that's our department.

Around Town

Eclipse Mold turns 50. Supervisor Kersten recognized the company for a half century in business. It started as a small tool shop in 1976 and now serves the automotive, industrial, defense, and medical industries out of Macomb County.

New Baltimore Rec's Fall/Winter brochure is out. Registration is open now for classes, programs, and field trips at NBrecreation.org. Printed copies are hitting mailboxes soon.

That's a wrap for this week's Anchor Bay Current. See you around town!
