Summer is moving fast, but our local calendar is packed and we’ve rounded up the best active highlights across Anchor Bay and our neighboring towns this week.
📍 Around the Bay: Local News & Civic Snapshots
Jefferson Avenue Pathway Opening: Construction along the Jefferson Avenue pathway is wrapping up! Final walkthroughs are happening now, with the pathway expected to officially open to walkers, runners, and cyclists on Thursday, August 7th.
EB M-29 to EB I-94 Ramp Closure: A quick reminder for your commute south: the M-29 ramp to eastbound I-94 remains closed through late August. Detour signs direct traffic down SB M-3/Gratiot to EB 21 Mile.
Monarch Meadows Nature Restoration: Chesterfield Township, alongside the Six Rivers Land Conservancy, continues restoring Monarch Meadows to build a native wildflower sanctuary for monarch butterflies, pollinators, and wildlife right in our backyard.

Midweek Waterfront Concert Series: Catch live waterfront music by the lake tonight! Featuring Caleb Malooley (lead singer of The Gasoline Gypsies).
When: Wednesday, August 5th | 7:00 PM – 9:30 PM
Where: Walter & Mary Burke Park Waterfront Stage, Downtown New Baltimore
Fee: Free
1st Annual Anchor Bay Thunder Street Party: Downtown New Baltimore takes off with high-performance offshore boats, classic hot rods, a Kid Zone, beer garden, dunk tank, live music, and a fireworks show over Anchor Bay.
When: Thursday, August 6th | 12:00 PM to Dusk (Kid Zone 12–6 PM, Music starts 4:30 PM, Fireworks at Dusk)
Where: Downtown New Baltimore
Fee: Free to attend
Free Movie in the Park: Zootopia 2: Pack your lawn chairs and blankets for a family night under the stars featuring DJ Mr. Dance, concessions, and kids' activities!
When: Thursday, August 6th | Activities start at 6:00 PM (Movie at Dusk)
Where: Walter & Mary Burke Park
Fee: Free
Brandenburg Park Music in the Park: Enjoy a relaxed evening of live outdoor music right on the water.
When: Thursday, August 6th | 6:30 PM

🌊 Just Down the Road (Regional Highlights)
Marine City Maritime Days: Mark your calendars for Marine City's annual riverfront festival running this weekend! Enjoy craft vendors, festival foods, games, and riverfront entertainment.
When: Friday, August 7th – Sunday, August 9th
Where: Downtown Marine City
Algonac Waterfront Park Music: Take a short drive east down M-29 on Thursday evening to catch free concerts right on the St. Clair River, where you can watch freighter traffic pass while enjoying live music.

Potato Joe's Returns! Word around town is the local favorite is making its long-awaited comeback. Keep your eyes peeled for dates!
Immaculate Conception Festival: Planning is underway for the upcoming parish festival in Fair Haven—always a seasonal highlight with great food, games, and raffles.
